1000 and 1 pictures

We went to our first pumpkin patch of the season on Saturday. There are tons and tons of pumpkin patches here and honestly it was one of the biggest reasons we were so excited to move here. We love the holiday season here. All the pumpkin patches and cold weather, and the fact that you have millions and millions of leaves changing colors all around you. Dustin and I love to take drives and just look at all the orange, red, and yellow leaves everywhere it is seriously some of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. So once October hit Dustin and I have been planning which pumpkin patches we are hitting every weekend until Halloween. This was our first, Lee Family Farm. They had a lot to do and the girls had a lot of fun. On the down side it was definately a working family farm and probably wasn't the prettiest farm, and they charged WAY to much for the activities, limiting us to only three. Now I know that the reason you go to a pumpkin patch is to get a pumpkin but that is not really why we go. So we finally decided to let the girls pick a pumpkin, because they were also very expensive, and lucky for us they all picked "baby" pumpkins. There are a lot of pictures here, sorry about that but it is really for grandma's and grandpa's so they can feel like they were there with us. We miss you all! I was trying to get a picture with all three girls but it just wasn't working out. This is the only one I got and I had to crop myself out of it. Lilly was SO tired as you can tell by the last picture of the post. We had Josey's soccer game at noon and then left right after so she never really got a nap and she was showing it. On a side note, she LOVED this ugly yellow gourd. She would not let it go! I kept trying to show her little pumpkins and other gourds and she would always pick that ugly yellow gourd, it was cute. She kept trying to pick off the little knobby things.
This is out hay ride. It struck me as funny as we were on the ride that people pay to do this. We payed to get on the back of this tractor and be pulled around their farm with all these other people packed on.....hay. I just think it is funny and honestly a waste of miney and time. The girls liked it and Lilly kept saying "FUN!"
This was probably Lilly's second favorite thing about the farm. She just followed the goats around and kept calling them doggie.
This is why Maddy wore her cowboy hat. She was so excited fot he pony rides. When we got there and found out they were 4 dollars a ride Dustin and I were SICK! But they had been so excited about riding on the ponies so we decided to do it anyway. The sad thing is when we asked them later what their favorite thing about the farm was they didn't even mention or remember the pony rides, oh well.

I loved this sign and thought it was pretty funny!

They had these cool gourds there called swan gourds. I had never seen anything like them and really thought they were cool.
Josey thought it looked like a snake and this is her yelling SNAKE.
Maddy had to put her hat on everything she was so wierd.

Lilly's favorite thing was just walking around looking at all the pumpkins. She would pick up the little ones and walk around with them until she had her arms filled and then she would have to decide which thing to put down to pick up more.

This was the best investment of the trip. It was a kids hay maze and they could go as many times as they wanted and Maddy and Josey spent so much time here! They went over and over again and then later went back and kept going even more.
I love this picture because you can see their fashion choices. Maddy with her rain boot and her hat and Josey with her Halloween pants and skirt. If you could see her shirt it was a blue my little pony shirt. All in all they looked completely crazy.

This was the biggest hit of the day. If we had known these were in here we probably wouldn't have paid for anything and just spent the majority of the time in here with the little chicks. We were here forever and we finally had to pry the girls away. They were the cutest little chicks!

Josey was terrified to hold one but wanted to hold one SOOO bad! We kept working on it and working on it and FINALLY she would put one in her hand! She was so proud and got to the point that she could ALMOST pick one up herself. It was sad and funny.
Lilly was like Lennie from Of Mice and Men. She would want to hug it and kiss it and almost break it. She was SOOOO excited.
This was the end of her day and we all felt pretty much the same way. She conked out and everyone else conked out later. It was fun and we are excited about next week.

Fun! I think we have one here and we are planning on going, when possible. I love pumpkin patches and I used to go to one in Tacoma WA where my mom's family lives. There's nothing like fall up there!

Jess that looks so fun. I wish we had something like that here. Our pumpkin patch has a bounce house and you have to spend 15 buck to jump in it.

Ah, a real pumpkin patch--what lucky ducks you are. It's just not the same when they pitch a red and white striped tent in an empty lot, throw around some hay bales and call it a pumpkin patch--then charge you thru the nose for rides or pumpkins!! I must say the rain boots complete the outfit!!

Looks liek you guys had so much fun- and I can't wait to see other pumpkin patch adventures! My kids love them- I just refuse to buy the pumpkins there- we are totally about the rides!
