Too much Santa?

Maddy had a doctors appt in the middle of the day yesterday all the way downtown Portland. So Dustin and I decided to make it a day of Santa Claus and lunch with daddy. I pulled both the girls out of school and headed into Portland. We met daddy and headed to the mall where we found THIS Santa Claus...... We remembered him from last year and how much we loved him and so we stopped to see him. He does such a good job. The girls were convinced that he had sent elves to our house when he told them that sometimes they don't want to go to bed and sometimes they fight and that they needed to not do that anymore. He even told Maddy that the tooth fairy told him that she had put some money under her pillow. She was SHOCKED! What a smart Santa. And it has worked. Whenever they girls start fighting one will say, "Remember what Santa said?!"

Then we grabbed some lunch at the mall and headed over to Macy's where Dustin had scoped out the Santaland. It was really cool! The girls loved it.

The girls didn't actually get to write their letters because we didn't have enough time but they LOVED the whole set up.

Then we went and played in Santaland

This was definitely the crowd pleaser. They thought all these reindeer were so cool. They moved too.

Out second Santa of the day.....Lilly wouldn't go near him so we just left it at that.

And then later that night we had Santa come visit us one more time! The local fire department does a Santa canned food drive every year where they drive through all the neighborhoods with decorated fire trucks and one with Santa in his sleigh all lit up yelling Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas with Christmas music playing. It is so fun! It is one of my favorite things about this town. We loved it last year and almost missed it. And then again this year I didn't see the signs up anywhere like I had last year so I didn't know it was happening. We were putting the girls to bed when we heard the ho ho ho and ran out the door. We grabbed some food to donate and Dustin ran back in with the camera and these were the only pictures we got as they were leaving.


Luckily the girls didn't think it was weird that Santa was in three different places today and he looked mildly different each time.

I didn't really get a picture with any of the Santas as no one ended up looking put together enough (story of my life). So we are going to go on Saturday when they have a place that gives you a free 8x10 picture with Santa when you donate a couple cans of food. That way I can get them all cute and QUICKLY take the picture and maybe I will actually like it!
