3 years old

Lilly has hit that magical age where about 80 percent of what she says CRACKS me up! Recently she has become my entertainment during the day. I thought I would share what is so funny.

Lately she has started picking big words to implement into her vocabulary in all the wrong places. For instance:
"These shoes are so preg-a-nant"
"These shoes hurt me they are specific"
"That's really complicated"
(When I asked her what complicated meant she said really brown with white socks.)

Seriously it has become SUCH a crack up! She is also assures me that her hair is orange. I have told her her hair is yellow and that mommy's hair is orange but she KNOWS I am wrong about her orange hair. Yesterday we were talking about going trick-or-treating. I was reminding her that we go to the door and say "Trick-or-Treat" and she said, "Yeah! You say trick-or-treat. I love you!" And I thought about it for a minute and thought that might not be a bad way to rake in the candy!

The other funny thing that has developed in the last couple of weeks, is her first imaginary friend. I think all three of my girls at one time or another have had little spurts with an imaginary friend. Lilly I have a feeling is going to last longer. Lilly's imaginary friend is named Johnny and he fluctuates from being 5 to being 3 years old, as does Lilly on a regular basis. But, what is so funny and different about her imaginary friend is that she is REALLY specific about him and his family and what he does and she is constantly telling me stories about things Johnny has done. And I can't help but get sucked into a conversation about him because it fascinates me! So today she told me that Johnny lost a tooth.

I asked him where Johnny was today and she said he was far away.
I asked her where he was and she said he was at McDonald's.
I asked her who took him to McDonald's and she told me his mom took him there.
I asked her if she knew his mom's name and she said it was Julia.
I asked her if he had any brothers or sisters and she said he had a brother.
I asked her what his name was and she said it was dark chocolate. (Apparently Julia got much more free spirited when naming her other son.)

I guess Lilly has been over to his house to play and they have played house and pretended to cook food together and burn it. And he has been over to our house to play as well. It really is funny to watch that little imagination work. In the beginning, she was so specific about things they did together that I really started to think she was really telling me something that happened that I was not remembering. I went through all our friends that have little boys that she has EVER played with asking her if she was talking about Colton, or Austin, or Connor. And she assured me she was not talking about any of them. But Johnny does have brown hair and his taller than she is. So, either she is highly intelligent and imaginative or......she is going to be Schizophrenic. (I watched an Oprah on that recently).

I am actually loving this age though. If you have read any of my blog over the past couple of years then you probably know the trial this little girl has been for me. But I feel like she is finally getting to an age that I am appreciating and enjoying. She has become so much easier and more fun to be with for everyone and I am so glad! Hopefully we won't revert back when the baby is here is a few months! Love ya Lilly.

okay, now the converstion that we had makes sense... johnny is going to be a prince for halloween, and that lilly didn't want to see him today because he is wearing a shirt with a shark and a whale on the front. That is hilarious. I thought you were really talking about a little boy she liked or something!
