Our Crazy hodgepodge Christmas Tree

Anyone else excited to decorate a tree with this guy..........and the scary part is he just bought a really sharp knife.......
We went on Saturday to get our Christmas tree and had so much fun. We couldn't find the camera before we were leaving so we didn't get any pictures but we went to the most beautiful tree farm and it was a gorgeous day....REALLY COLD but not a cloud in the sky. We got a beautiful tree hauled home and set up awaiting the decorations the next day.

Dustin did a great job hanging the tree lights.

And the girls did a great job hanging the ornaments.

This is the tree almost finished. I know that it is severely leaning to the right and the picture is blurry. I can't seem to take a good picture in certain lighting with this camera and I promise that we will fix the tree.....eventually. We always have a crazy tree with no matching ornaments and colorful lights. But now it has become so fun for my girls to put up "their" ornaments every year. They usually get one from grandma Beth and I try to get one with their name and date on it as well every year and one that represents our family every year and now it has become a crazy hodgepodge tree! But the kids love it.
And then we have the hanging of the star....4 times.....every year. Everyone had to have a chance to put the star up. I tried saying that we are starting a new tradition that Daddy places the star every year but no one went for that idea. So Lilly first....

And then Josey.....
And then Maddy.
And finally Dustin hung the star.
And then decided to sit and admire it for a while.
I realized that I haven't really taken one of the tree all decorated but you get the picture.
And last, yet another picture of my new window. I ABSOLUTELY love how much light it lets into the room. And I love how we have rearranged the couches. We still need to paint the wall and eventually decorate the room a little more but all in time. Dustin has bought all the stuff but we just haven't gotten around to actually doing it yet. The room feels so cozy with the tree and fireplace....just in time for Christmas!

We grew up having a tree just like that--a real tree with tons of crazy ornaments everywhere. And I have lots of great memories of it!
