Halloweens past......

Okay so lately I feel like I have been getting my inspiration for my blog off of everybody's elses blogs and it is bothering me. I swear that I am not trying to copy everyone it is just that it starts making me think about things and then I find myself wanting to blog about it! So my aunt and my cousin recently posted old Halloween pictures and it was so fun to look at all the different costumes. It made me want to go back through all my old Halloween pictures as well. So here goes and if anyone else out there has any fun Halloween pictures, POST THEM, I want to see them!

1985-This is the only picture I have of myself as kid at Halloween. I know there are more but I don't have them. This is when I was about 8 or 9 in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. I was a clown obviously. 1997-My sister and I in college at BYU about ten years ago. She is actually pregnant in this picture and STILL looks better than I do! What else is new? We were seventies chicks if you couldn't tell.

2000-Maddy's first Halloween. We were in Provo, Utah. Doesn't everyone make their daughters dress up like ladybugs for their first Halloween? I swear about half of all babies first Halloweens are spent as ladybugs.

2001-Maddy was a bumblebee and I was a pirate. That year we won half off our rent for my door decorations. We had a contest in our apartment complex in Beaverton, Oregon and I got second place. See it can pay to decorate for Halloween!

2002- Joselyn's first Halloween! This year is so sad because I lost my camera at Disneyland. I consequently only have a few pictures that I got from my sister. What was really sad was that I had pictures of Joselyn over the past about three or four months still on there and we lost them! So I have practically no pictures of Josey until she is about six months old. Maddy was Tigger, Lilly was a cow and I went all out as you can see.

2003- Maddy was a princess riding a horse and Lilly was a bunny.

2004- This was at the law school Halloween party at BYU (does that sounds familiar Heidi and Jessica?). Dustin actually dressed up as a cow to take the kids around to the carrells trick-or-treating. It was very cute.
I think this is my favorite costume that my kids have ever chosen. Maddy wanted to be Mario from Super Mario brothers. So I put this costume together for her and she looked really cute. It was just so creative of her to want to be that and I guarantee you that we didn't see another Mario anywhere.
Joselyn was so excited to carry around a wand that year.
By the time it was actually Halloween and we were going out trick-or-treating Maddy had decided she no longer wanted to be Mario. I don't know if someone made fun of her or what happened but she put on one of our princess costumes. She was Belle and it snowed on us that year as we trick-or-treated in Orem.

2005- This was our first Halloween in Las Vegas. Maddy was a cheetah and she still has this costume and wears it all the time. She LOVED being a cheetah. Josey was a ballerina princess. I don't know if any of you saw her or remember her dancing in this costume but it was the funniest thing I had ever seen. She would go up on her tiptoes and shake her head violently from side to side with her arms over her head. That was her idea of ballet I guess.

2006- This year we had a lot of costume changes. We went to Disneyland again with my family for Halloween. Maddy wore her snow princess outfit and Josey was Ariel with the fin. They orginally had other costumes but when I was looking for a costume for me at the Goodwill they had all these new Halloween costumes there for two dollars a piece. They wanted these costumes SO bad and since it was only four dollars I got them for them. They were difinately their favortie costumes. I just wish we had found them before I bought them their other costumes that cost me a lot more!

This is actually Lilly's first Halloween but I didn't dress her up at Disneyland. She was just too little.

This was at one of the trunk-or-treats and the girls are still wearing their princess and Ariel dresses. I was a witch sort of and Dustin at the last minute grabbed the blanket we had there and became blanket man for the picture. It cracks me up honestly.
Lilly was a sunflower for the trunk-or-treat.
These were the costumes the girls originally picked out. They wore these to a trunk-or-treat, a party and to school because I made them! Maddy was Wonder Woman and Josey was Ariel without the fin. Maddy was so funny pretending to be Wonder Woman. She would use her arm shield and pretend to block things. When I asked her what she was blocking she told me she blocks stuff like eggs and things. Okay?

Lilly was a ballerina for a few of our festivities as well.

This is what Dustin and I wore to our Halloween party. I looked SO ugly! Dustin's face says it all doesn't it? He looks afraid to touch me.

Okay now I want to see everyone else old Halloween pictures!

Okay, honey, just so everyone knows I made that clown costume for you in 1985! Rebekah was a gypsy, Jeff was a pirate and Alli was a furry bunny rabbit with pink satin ears. I made every costume that year! Thank you for posting so I could get my brownie button!!
Love, Mom

Good Idea Jess. I loved the ones of you and Dustin dressed up. I only got Gary to dress up the first year we were married. Apparently my power over him went away after that first year. :-)
