You know that fine line between being sympathetic when your kids are sick and being endulgent......apparently I crossed that. Joselyn is sick if you couldn't tell from the picture. Her and I and Lilly have been sick all weekend with a nasty cough and cold. It hasn't been fun but it hasn't been THAT bad. We aren't THAT sick. But this morning when I got up to get the girls ready for school, Joselyn was still asleep and she felt a little warm so I let her sleep in and stay home. When she woke up I went in and told her to go climb into mommy's bed and I would bring her some hot chocolate. So she did, in all her sickness.
I came to check on her later to see how she was doing and I asked her if she needed anything. In a VERY weak voice she said, "I......need.....my.......trophy". I almost started laughing but I got her her trophy and went downstairs. She came down not too much later and made herself comfortable on this chair to watch cartoons. As I am walking past her she says, "WAIT! Can you hand me my snowman and get the blinds." That is really what she said! Now look at the picture and look where the snowman is. She wanted me to HAND HER THE SNOWMAN! I started laughing and went and grabbed the camera but apparently the picture offended some people so I had to recreate it here. So as you can see it is official. I have created the sick monster. Wish me luck.

Wow, next time I'm sick I'm coming to your house.
I think it's hard to know which way to go on that whole thing when they're sick. My parents treated me like a prisoner when I was sick! I had to stay in bed, no tv, nothin'! Being sick almost seemed like a punishment! It made me hate being sick all that much more! Hehe-All in all, whether you've created a monster or not, I think I'd rather steer in the direction that you've gone with your kids because they know they have a nurturing loving mother who loves to take care of them and wants to make unpleasant times a little more bearable! What a nice mommy you are!
(*My parents were nice...(in case they're reading this!) HEhe...just a little harsh at times! LOL)
Oh and thanks for the moral support with Carly!! She sounds a lot like Lilly-SHe never sleeps well anywhere either and "vacation" isn't always so much of a vacation! Oh the joys of parenthood! Hopefully these kiddies will grow out of it soon!
It seems everyone becomes a little more demanding when they're sick--kids and even husbands!
Ha~I love where the snowman is. I love the way you write, it paints a perfect picture of what happened.
Good Luck! :-)
good luck with that. Olivia is my "sick princess" When she gets sick, we all know it! and pay for it. The boys don't really try and get too much sympathy. Hope you are all feeling better soon!
Rob is my "sick princess" Drama Drama Drama!
