MInty is dressed

We decorated our tree tonight and she (which the girls informed us of...poor Dustin he can't get a break) is now officially dressed for Christmas. I have given up on having a pretty tree. Maybe when my kids are older and they aren't interested in putting up the decorations as much (and we have money) I will finally decorate a pretty tree. But for now we have the crazy family tree! Nothing matches and all the colorful lights are everywhere but the girls love it and so I do too. They had so much fun decorating it and once again everyone had to have a turn putting up the star. Dustin had to lift them each up and they got to put the star on top and then we would take it down and let the other one put it up. Dustin finally put it in it's place. We put Lilly to bed because by the time we got home to decorate the tree it was past her bedtime and she was tired.... she won't remember anyway right? And I didn't take any pictures so she will have no proof that she wasn't there. So I have no idea what the tree is going to look like tomorrow when she sees all the things she can grab. Good thing I have the cheapest plastic ornaments ever huh? And how do I know they are officially the cheapest plastic ornaments ever? a:you can drop them on the kitchen floor and they practically bounce and b: they have an ornament shaped like a mushroom. WHAT? who decorates a Christmas tree with mushrooms? We do!

POINTS OF INTEREST ON MINTY:
This is where Joselyn insisted on putting all the gold balls together. She said they were all brothers and that they were happy to finally get to be on the same branch. It was too cute I had to leave it.
This is where Maddy tried to make a candy cane wreath around the whole tree. She found out we didn't have enough candy canes to go around the entire tree so she has half a candy cane wreath around the tree.

SOME OF MINTY'S BLING BLING:
These are just some of my favorite ornaments we put up. I try every year to get a family ornament depicting our family and then if I am lucky an ornament for the girls. I don't know if it is going to happen this year since money is so tight but we will see.

Just as a side note, are those not the healthiest looking branches and needles ever? I can't believe how soft our tree is? Usually our tree is so dead and prickly that I can barely touch it. I put the lights up this afternoon and the needles didn't bother me at all! Except for the family of little spiders we found living on the top branches of our tree. I guess that is the down side to getting a fresh cut tree. You get whatever else has been living in it as well.

Your tree looks great! I always laugh at my kid's decorating ability. We always have clusters of ornaments about 3 feet high, and nothing on the top. So cute!
