Let it snow!

We have snow! Well we have had snow for about the last week. It has been so unusual and so fun! This was about a week ago when we woke up to our first snow day. The girls insisted on going outside to feel the snow first thing, at like 7:30 in the morning. And Josey was already starting to make snowballs. The girls were out of school every day this week except for a half day on Thursday that they tried to get the kids to school. So that has been fun......for them! In truth it hasn't been that bad having them home this week. They have played outside so much.

So this is what we woke up to this morning....... And this is what we went to bed to tonight.

It literally snowed the ENTIRE day. I think we must have got about 6 inches of snow and it is still snowing as we speak. I know that doesn't sound like a lot to those snow dwellers but for here THAT IS A LOT! It is supposed to warm up and give us a little bit of "freezing rain" (for some reason that name makes me laugh) so we will see what happens the next couple of days. Good thing we are all stocked up and ready to hunker down if needs be. We went to the store this morning to get a few more things we thought we might need and saw half our ward there doing the same thing. Great minds think alike!

Here are a few things we have been doing this week in the snow.

Exploring the snow.
Sledding....
sledding.....
and more sledding.
Tasting the snow, as long as it isn't yellow....or brown as Josey pointed out.
Lots of snow ball fights were Josey got her first taste of getting hit in the face by a cold snowball.
And Lilly's favorite past time making snow angels.
(Lilly looks dead in this one. Don't worry she's not.)

We only have one sled so while Lilly was taking her turn the girls improvised and decided that rolling down the snow covered hill was just as much fun as sledding. They did it a lot.

We finally decided that this probably wasn't the best place to sled after Maddy went down and hit so hard her foot got stuck in the fence. (No one was hurt in the making of this video.)

We heard a lot of this little voice as we were all inside together.....a lot.
TRANSLATION: "Once upon a.....Jasmine lub Alladin......And my bread was dancing again. Thee End."
And I got to be treated to this mighty entertaining play that the girls put together. Unfortunately the rest of it just took too long to load....I know you are all really disappointed. Let me just tell you it ended with a group hug with four Christmas trees.

And we played lots of games which the girls really enjoyed.

Sometimes it is nice to have an excuse to do nothing but play together as a family. We have had lots of fun this week and secretly hope that the snow will stay a little longer!

We had a snow day too! And Las Vegas even shut down. Crazy weather!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun this week. Sometimes these days are needed just to "regroup" and have fun.
