What would have been....

So I had decided this year that I wasn't going to be SUCH a killjoy when it came to my kids Halloween costumes. As you might know in this house us girls take Halloween VERY seriously (I left you out on purpose Dustin. I know you don't want to be included in the Halloween hysteria). So usually when we decide what everyone is going to be and we get costumes, they aren't allowed to wear their costumes until Halloween. And then they can trash them after that wearing them everyday if they want too. But it seems that the more mileage they get out of them BEFORE Halloween ends with 2 results: 1. they don't want to wear the costume anymore come the day of Halloween and they end up picking some completely random costume that wouldn't have cost me any money. 2. They rip or ruin the costume before Halloween. I mean these aren't the highest quality materials we are usually dealing with.

So this year I decided that I was going to let them have more fun with them before Halloween and not get so uptight about it. I should have followed my gut feelings. Josey wanted this vampire costume and wore it everyday for almost a week and now isn't sure if this is what she wants to be for Halloween.....AAAHHH! And I found this dress for Lilly at the Goodwill. It was 5 bucks! And still had the tags on it from Target. It is REALLY adorable and she is so excited about it. She wore it all day the day we got it home and has already ripped it in 2 places. One of the sleeves is hanging by a thread!

So in case they don't end up with these costumes on the actual date of October 31st at least I can give a little preview of what would have been.

** on a side note, Lilly just saw this picture on the blog and said, " OH LOOK! There is me with my maid!" I thought that was pretty funny.
