I know this grosses a lot of people out. I get all sorts of different reactions when Maddy brings the rat down the stairs. But it really has been a great pet for the girls and especially for Maddy. So I came in the room the other day and I found her just cuddling the rat. He was so cute. He was just sitting there on her chest while she pet him. It was really cute.

I love rats. We had one when we were kids--it was kind of dumb, but sweet. My husband had several rats as a kid, too, but apparently his rats were nothing short of genius. They really make great pets! (Just don't stare too long at their tails--I think that's what creeps people out. Kind of...snakey.) :)
