Christmas bowling

So we I had planned to take the girls to see the Polar Express at the IMAX in Portland today but when it came down to it I was just too tired and didn't want to drive all the way downtown by myself (Dustin was going to stay with Lilly) and we were a little worried about the weather. So instead we decided to go......CHRISTMAS BOWLING! The girls seemed okay with that. So here we are celebrating the season by throwing a big heavy ball at some pins. I took some video of all the different techniques we all had. They are super dark unfortunately. Who do you think is going to win?

And here is what we did in between our turns.

You probably guessed right. Dustin won by a landslide. At first I told him we needed a bet.....I am really glad neither of us thought of one in time. He was number 5. And that was without a last bowl. Our lane messed up and he and I didn't get to completely finish our games. Oh well.

And apparently I inadvertently started a Christmas tradition in our house last year. Last year the girls wrote a letter to Santa that got taken by the mailman as seen here.

And they ended up getting a letter back from Santa in the Christmas tree. They were so excited when they found them and I told them that an elf must have delivered them to them. So they have latched on to that and talked about it for a very long time. This year they were so excited to get Santa's letter in the tree. So I had them put their letter to Santa in the tree and wait and see if an elf would take it. Low and behold, an elf took it! And then a couple of days later they found these lovely letters written back to them in the tree. Isn't Santa so (not) crafty?

Unfortunately Santa was also lazy because he left a bunch of the wrappers that the stickers came in on the family room floor! This was very confusing to my daughters who thought that I must have written the letters! Luckily I was able to convince them that I DID NOT write the letters and that Santa must have just been tired or in a hurry?

And we also started Grandma Moyes 12 days of Christmas presents tonight. You can see what we opened here. And if anyone still needs an invite to post on that blog let me know.
